Best European River Cruises Have you ever dreamed about a european river cruise?

European River Cruises Let You Explore Europe in Comfort

October 4th, 2009 by Jason Myers

European river cruises are an ideal way to see the cities and countryside of Europe in a relaxed atmosphere. There’s a lot of history, magnificent castles and beautiful landscapes seen along the route of a European river cruise. River cruise ships are small which makes it easy for them to fit into many places that big ships couldn’t go. These cruises travel at a slow speed so you can really enjoy all the sights. Some river cruise ships have lounges, staterooms and restaurants where you can still see the view through the panoramic windows. Make sure you have a camera with you.

There are European river cruises that are specifically for golfers, gardeners, music fans or other interests. The lifestyle on these cruises is informal and quiet with only a small number of people. You can usually wear casual clothing but a few river cruise ships may want you to dress for evening. Make sure you pack suitable clothing for the weather. An advantage of a European river cruise is you’ll always see land and the sailing is smooth so you probably won’t get seasick. Also, you don’t have to worry about packing and unpacking because you only unpack once. Many ports have entertainment such as dancing and different kinds of bands. There are city tours available at some of the ports.

You will visit different areas of Europe according to which European river cruise you take. The cruise called Tulip Time in Low Countries takes you to Holland and Belgium where there’s beautiful spring blossoms, windmills and stunning medieval cities. Another European river cruise called Across Europe is a two week program where you’ll cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest.

Certain things need to be considered when choosing which European river cruise to take. Find out everything that’s included like the kind of food they have and the size of the cabins. You’ll want to choose the cruise that suits you. Also, make sure you bring everything with you that you’ll need such as accessories, glasses, enough clothes and comfortable shoes. Make sure you get all the required visas and double check passport validity. For your security, take along a prescription for your glasses or medicine in case you lose them.
