Danube Trips, Many Great Offerings

October 4th, 2009 by Jason Myers

Danube Trips can be an experience of a lifetime, and there are many different trips, and things to see. From it's beginnings in Germany's Black Forest, to its end at the best preserved of Europe's Deltas, there are so many places to explore, attractions and places of historical interest, that one trip will never be enough. One of the best way to explore the Danube is by visiting it's deltas, and what better way than with a bird watching tour.

One of these Danube Trips is a four day, three night tour, with meals and accommodations. A private local guide specializing in this unique ecosystem provides a full itinerary of opportunities to view a variety of wildlife, including glossy ibis, pelicans, white tailed eagles, and so much more. You also will be staying in some of the local villages, like Sulina, and not only stay at a family run guest lodging, but also stay in the same house the famed Romanian writer Jean Bart lived. You will also see the old Turkish lighthouse, and other historical sites.

The cost of the tour includes, 3 nights accommodations, all meals each day, and English speaking guide and all local transportation. It doesn't include airfare, entrance fees or gratuities. There may be extra lodging charges, for laundry, or phone usage, and of course all alcohol is extra. Because these tours are so popular, and have limited space, you should check with the tour provider for rates and availability.

There are many other Danube trips available, including several that explore Dracula's Castle, and Transylvania. The Real Dracula Halloween Tour-Truth and Myth of the Legend of Vlad Tepes in a seven day, six night tour of some of Transylvania's greatest historical attractions, including Bran Castle, or Dracula Castle. It includes 6 nights in various hotels and guesthouses, daily breakfast, three different dinners, as well as many other amenities. For two people, this will run 750 Euros per person, for single occupancy, it's 965Euros. It doesn't include airfare, alcohol, tips, or extra hotel charges. It also doesn't include entrance fees, or photography expenses at the monuments, which have to be paid directly.

For more information on these and many other Danube trips, check online, or with your local travel agent. It would probably be a good idea to make any airline reservations, or anything else your planning at the same time. Check carefully with each site for what kinds of packages they have to offer, what is clearly included and what isn't, as well as any other hidden fees. It is also a good idea to check with local customs, so you don't offend anyone.

For added safety, keep all of your valuables secure at all times when on Danube trips. If you are carrying money or identification, make sure it's in a money belt, or some other secret place, and never reveal it. You can step into the man's room for a moment or too. Also, don't stray too far from the tour group. There are many thieves and pick pockets waiting for the right moment so stay close to others.
